1. Tell us about yourself, your business journey and your contribution to the UAE.
I trained as a cardiologist in the UK and moved to Dubai in 2009 to help set up one of the city’s first dedicated preventive-care clinics. Continuum Health Group has since grown into a network of multi-specialty clinics across the UAE, focused on early diagnosis rather than late-stage treatment. My contribution has been pushing the model of healthcare here from reactive to preventive — treating a community’s long-term health, not just its symptoms.
2. What does receiving the 9th Golden Excellence Award for Healthcare Excellence mean to you?
Medicine rarely gets public recognition in the same way business does, so this means a great deal to our entire clinical team. Receiving it under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahayan is especially meaningful, because healthcare, more than almost any other field, depends on trust between people of completely different backgrounds — patient and doctor, often meeting as strangers.
3. How do you view the role of the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence in shaping the UAE’s society?
In our clinics, a patient’s nationality or faith never determines the quality of care they receive — that’s simply expected here, but it isn’t automatic anywhere in the world. The Ministry’s work reinforces that expectation at a national level, which makes it easier for institutions like ours to build genuinely equitable care models.
4. What opportunities do you see emerging in your industry over the next few years?
AI-assisted diagnostics will dramatically shorten the time between symptom and diagnosis, especially for underserved conditions that are often missed in routine check-ups. Genomic and personalized medicine is also becoming commercially viable at a scale we couldn’t imagine a decade ago.
5. What are your company’s key plans and growth priorities for the future?
We’re opening three new preventive-care centers across the Northern Emirates and investing in a remote-monitoring platform for chronic disease management. Our ambition is for Continuum to make preventive healthcare as routine as a car service.
